On July 31, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed to the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on reducing electricity prices in the fourth phase for some electricity customers affected by COVID-19.
Following the Government's direction, to join hands with the whole country to partially support the difficulties of people in localities that are having to implement social distancing, the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade worked with the leaders of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien to sign Document No. 453/BC-BCT proposing to the Prime Minister to allow the implementation of the fourth phase of electricity bill reduction support.
On July 31, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed to the above proposal, deciding to reduce electricity prices in the fourth phase for some electricity customers affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.
The Government agrees to reduce electricity bills in the 4th phase for customers.
Specifically, for customers using electricity for daily life in provinces and centrally run cities, districts, towns, and cities under provinces and cities as of July 30, 2021, who are implementing social distancing according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg, they will receive a 15% reduction in electricity bills (before VAT) on electricity bills for customers using up to 200 kWh/month. A 10% reduction in electricity bills (before VAT) on electricity bills for customers using over 200 kWh/month.
The period of support for reducing electricity bills for electricity users is 2 months for the August and September 2021 electricity bills.
For facilities that quarantine people infected or suspected of being infected with COVID-19 and collect part of the cost of people in medical quarantine, the electricity bill will be reduced by 100%.
The electricity bill reduction support period is 7 months from the electricity bill period of June 2021 to the electricity bill period of December 2021.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade is urgently directing the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and centrally run cities, Vietnam Electricity Group and related units to implement the 4th electricity bill reduction for customers.
