The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Science and Technology have signed a program to coordinate science and technology activities for the period 2021-2030, helping to create breakthroughs in quality, increase added value and improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products.
Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) held a signing ceremony for the Program to coordinate science and technology activities for the period 2021-2030 between the two units under the chairmanship of Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and Minister Le Minh Hoan. Attending the signing ceremony were also Deputy Ministers, leaders of units under the two ministries, and representatives of a number of enterprises.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that with the great contributions of scientists, the participation of localities, enterprises, science and technology of the industry has innovated and effectively contributed to the development of agricultural production, ensuring the improvement of value, quality and competitiveness of agricultural products and goods in the domestic and international markets.

Therefore, the signing ceremony with the orientation of prioritizing resources to focus on scientific research and technology transfer to serve the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development, associated with new rural construction; Focus on transforming the growth model, shifting thinking from agricultural production to agricultural economic development...
Through cooperation, many high-tech agricultural production areas have been formed with systems of greenhouses, greenhouses, net houses combined with digital technology for automatic or semi-automatic control, applying BigData, IoT, AI in crop management and care, water-saving irrigation.
Accordingly, the two Ministries highly agreed that in the period of 2021-2030, it is necessary to prioritize the effective implementation of national-level Science and Technology Programs, focusing on key products of the agricultural sector, and local advantageous products.
The two Ministries will coordinate to build a number of national-level S&T task clusters, a number of key research programs at the ministerial level, focusing on a number of key industries and products with competitive advantages, with special attention to research and development of processing technology, preservation technology, promoting digital transformation to create breakthroughs in quality and increase added value and improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized that the achievements of science and technology of the agricultural sector have contributed to the achievements of the science and technology sector, and science and technology have also made remarkable contributions to the overall achievements of the agricultural and rural development sector.
