The Ministry of Transport requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities to study and decide on the organization of the transportation of essential goods and agricultural products mentioned above to ensure compliance with their authority and the actual situation in the locality.

In addition, the Ministry of Transport also requests that provinces and cities direct the Department of Transport to preside over the synthesis of the demand for the use of high-speed inland waterway vehicles under their management and coordinate with the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration, the Vietnam Maritime Administration, and the Vietnam Register to carry out necessary tasks according to their authority, creating favorable conditions for businesses to use boats and high-speed inland waterway vehicles to transport essential goods and agricultural products for Ho Chi Minh City and other localities when needed, ensuring traffic safety and preventing the COVID-19 epidemic.

Railways run specialized trains

Accordingly, in addition to maintaining the daily operation of the SE7/SE8 trains, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) organizes the operation of specialized trains (trains that only pick up passengers at 1 departure station and drop off passengers at 1 arrival station) or specialized carriages on 1 train for provinces and cities that need to transport citizens back to their hometowns...

VNR still strictly maintains regular epidemic prevention measures such as: arranging distance between passengers by selling 50% of seats; fully implementing the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

Train staff must stay on site; Maintain disinfection spraying on trains and at stations; equip disinfectant solutions in carriages and toilets; train staff must disinfect every 3 hours at locations where many passengers come into contact (door handles, carriage doors, toilets...).

The railway industry still maintains the policy of reducing ticket prices for social policy beneficiaries (Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids, the elderly, students, etc.) when they need to use trains to return to their hometowns during social distancing.
