The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade has just announced that on July 22, Ho Chi Minh City had 2 markets temporarily closed: Nguyen Tri Phuong market (District 10), Trung Lap Ha market (Cu Chi district) due to COVID-19 infections.
However, 2 markets were reopened: Hoc Mon wholesale market (Hoc Mon district) and Hung Long market (Binh Chanh district).
Of which, on the first day of opening, Hoc Mon wholesale market had 9 traders selling fresh products, vegetables, tubers, and fruits with 190 people coming to the market.
After reopening, the markets must ensure epidemic prevention safety and strictly control the number of people entering and exiting.
Thus, as of 4:30 p.m. on July 22, the number of markets in operation in the city remains the same at 32/237. Localities that have closed all markets in the area are Thu Duc City, Districts 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, and Nha Be District.
From July 9 to now, 10 markets have resumed operations after being closed to carry out epidemic prevention and control work (such as disinfection, testing, tracing, etc.).
Specifically, Binh Thoi market (July 9), Phu Tho market (July 16), An Dong market - food business area at 96 Hung Vuong (July 17), Kien Thanh market, Tan Doan Viet market, Ba Lat market, temporary market in hamlet 4 Vinh Loc A, Qui Duc market (July 19), Hoc Mon wholesale market, Hung Long market (July 22).
To ensure safety in disease prevention and control at wholesale and retail markets, the Ministry of Health has sent an urgent dispatch guiding the prevention and control of COVID-19 at markets for localities during the implementation of Prime Minister's Directive 16.
Along with that, the provincial People's Committees are responsible for organizing and urging markets to assess COVID-19 safety and update the antoancovid.vn system; organizing SARS-CoV-2 testing by rapid antigen test for managers, workers, and sellers at the market every week.
At the same time, organize propaganda and dissemination to people about regulations on disease prevention and control when coming to and buying and selling at markets.
In addition, the Ministry of Health requests provincial People's Committees to direct competent agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of disease prevention and control at markets in the area. Markets that do not ensure safety and disease prevention according to regulations must stop operating immediately.
