The domestic trade development strategy for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045, aims to form sustainable distribution chains for products manufactured in Vietnam.
Domestic trade continues to be a solid foundation for production activities.
The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 1163/QD-TTg approving the domestic trade development strategy for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The general goal of the Strategy is to “Develop modern, civilized, fast-growing and sustainable domestic trade, as a solid foundation and fulcrum for domestic production to increasingly innovate and develop; Building Vietnamese goods brands, protecting the interests of consumers, domestic production and business enterprises and the economy, meeting the increasingly high requirements for socio-economic development, creating a solid foundation for deeper integration into the regional and world economies”.
The strategy sets specific targets for the 2021 - 2030 period: The growth rate of domestic trade added value reaches about 9 - 9.5%/year, contributing about 15.0 - 15.5% to the country's GDP by 2030; Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue (excluding price factors) achieves an average growth rate of 13.0 - 13.5%/year.
The 2031 - 2045 period: maintaining the growth rate of domestic trade added value at 8.5 - 9.0%/year; Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by an average of 12.0 - 12.5%/year; e-commerce revenue increased by an average of about 12 - 13%/year.
The orientation for implementing the General Strategy according to Decision No. 1163/QD-TTg clearly states: Continue to improve the domestic investment and business environment; consolidate and establish market order to adapt to new contexts and situations; Develop diverse methods and forms of domestic trade organization; Restructure the domestic trade sector towards innovation and digitalization, technologyization of business methods; Strengthen connectivity, participate in supply chains, value chains, global and regional ecosystems.
Develop e-commerce to become the main form of trade; Build and develop a synchronous, modern and sustainable domestic trade infrastructure; Pay special attention to investing in developing trade infrastructure in rural areas, paying attention to developing essential trade infrastructure in remote areas, ethnic minority areas; Focus on removing difficulties, building and implementing policies to effectively support entities participating in the production and supply chain of goods.
