Detecting 43 people infected with COVID-19, Vissan temporarily stops supplying pork to Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of July 28, Vissan Company announced that it would temporarily stop supplying pork to Ho Chi Minh City because the company had workers infected with COVID-19.

Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Khoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Livestock Industry Corporation (Vissan) said that the unit would temporarily suspend operations for 3-4 weeks to send 43 workers infected with COVID-19 to centralized quarantine, and F1 and F2 cases could return to work after being monitored if they meet the conditions.

After implementing the "3 on-site" plan from June 28 for 1,500 employees, during the process of taking samples for testing of workers, the Company discovered positive cases, so it was forced to temporarily suspend some stages in the factory, including the cutting and tray packing stages.

On July 20, the Company discovered 20 more COVID-19 cases, but these cases were all quarantined at the company. Currently, Vissan has 43 COVID-19 cases and hundreds of F1s and F2s.

Therefore, on the morning of July 28, the Company's Board of Directors decided to temporarily stop supplying pork pieces to supermarket systems and stores in Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, in addition to 600 Vissan product sales points in Ho Chi Minh City, the Company also supplies fresh pork to thousands of sales points in the supermarket systems of Co.opmart, Satra Mart, Satra Foods, Aeonmall, Vinmart, Vinmart+...

Currently, in addition to the supply from Vissan, the units also have sources of goods from other suppliers such as Sagri Company, Anh Hoang Thi,... These suppliers are still operating below capacity, so they are able to supply additional pork to Ho Chi Minh City.
