On June 28, 2023, Nova Consumer Group Corporation successfully held its annual general meeting of shareholders at the Crystal Palace Convention Center - District 7. At the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, the Company approved the business development plans for 2023 and is expected to complete the successful registration of NCG shares for trading on the Upcom Exchange managed by HNX in 2023.
Sharing more about the orientation in the coming time, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nova Consumer Group, Mr. Nguyen Hieu Liem said that in the period of 2023-2027, the Company will focus mainly on the agricultural sector, especially veterinary medicine because this is a business activity that has been going on for 31 years and exported for 28 years to markets such as Thailand, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, etc. This is a rare bright spot for the Company in the first 6 months of 2023 when recording a growth rate of 50%.
Nova Consumer Group is facing common difficulties of the industry such as the sharp decrease in domestic demand for pork and chicken in recent times; high feed prices; along with the raging African swine fever. However, Mr. Nguyen Hieu Liem said that there are positive signs that pork and chicken prices have started to increase again since the beginning of June 2023. Regarding the epidemic, the Group is trying to ensure the farms are safe and hygienic and currently the Group's farms have not shown any signs of infection.
In addition to the livestock sector, Nova Consumer Group is expanding into the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) segment such as packaged foods, beverages and soft drinks to increase profit margins.
